STORYLINE is a young production company based in the heart of Berlin, founded by producers and directors Martin Koddenberg and Lina Schuller. With more than 15 years of experience in non-fiction television production, Storyline brings together the founders’ expertise in film production, writing, and editorial development.
The company focuses on ambitious factual storytelling that combines strong journalistic research with cinematic visual language. Its work spans documentary series, history and science programming, and innovative online-first formats for international broadcasters and digital platforms.

teamwork makes the dream work
Martin Koddenberg
He completed his film studies at University College London (UCL) in 2010, after which he worked as a freelance journalist for both German and British media outlets, including the ARD and the BBC. He then co-founded a creative agency in his hometown of Cologne, where he worked for clients such as the German Federal Foreign Office and companies in the automotive industry, including Goodyear, Volkswagen, SEAT, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar Land Rover.
Since relocating to Berlin, he has been working as a freelance writer and producer on numerous documentaries for public broadcasters, public institutions in the cultural and political sector. His work includes several award-winning international productions, such as Cracking the Ageing Code – The Hunt for Longevity (DW & partners, 52 min), a Sisi Trilogy (ORF/arte/ZDF), Stadt der Könige (WDR, 90 min), The Grand Scuttle (ZDF/arte, 52 min), Worldwide Berlin (rbb, DW, mbb, 2×90 + 120) and the acclaimed nature series Inside Britains National Parks (ZDF/arte, picked up by BBC).
Lina Schuller
She is an experienced filmmaker with a strong track record in high-end documentary and factual storytelling, both in front of and behind the camera. After completing her film studies in London, she held key creative roles as a producer, editor, and supervising producer (CvD) at leading production companies in Berlin and Cologne, including Gebrueder Beetz, Berlin Producers, and BROADVIEW TV, where she developed and oversaw documentaries and reportages for major public broadcasters, both domestically and internationally.
As a freelance director, she has collaborated with renowned filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff on various projects for ARTE. She directed a feature-length documentary on Hannah Arendt for WDR and contributed to ARTE’s flagship science formats 42 and Xenius, known for their distinctive narrative approach and international reach.
Since 2019, she has expanded her work into the audio space, producing, writing, and hosting narrative-driven podcasts for major platforms such as Audible and Deezer, further broadening her portfolio across formats and audiences. She is also a key creative force behind the development of ARTE’s geopolitics series Konfliktzone.

Roman Dudchyk
He is a contemporary composer, music producer, and arranger whose work spans a wide range of film and television formats. He has composed original scores for more than 80 projects, including feature films, series, documentaries, and short films, establishing himself as a distinctive voice in modern screen music.
In addition to his work for film and television, his portfolio includes music for over 1,000 commercials and more than 30 trailer tracks for major contemporary releases. He collaborates with directors and producers across Germany, Austria, and Ukraine, contributing to internationally recognized projects. His score for The Flight of the Golden Fly was awarded Best Music in a Feature Film at the XXIV Open Film Festival of the CIS Countries, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, and he ranked first in the “Composers” category of the Shot in Ukraine ranking between 2016 and 2018.
His music is defined by emotional depth, a refined sense of atmosphere, and the integration of modern production techniques with traditional motifs—creating distinctive soundscapes that enhance cinematic storytelling and elevate visual narratives.
